Vincent Kompany: Amazed by Manchester City's sensational late comeback against QPR

Man City captain says players were overcome with emotion

Vincent Kompany has insisted that the outpouring of emotion at the final whistle on Sunday shows that Manchester City's players do not just care about money.
A topsy-turvy title race reached an extraordinary conclusion at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City came from behind to beat Queens Park Rangers 3-2 with two goals in stoppage time.
Edin Dzeko equalised with a header before Sergio Aguero fired home a dramatic winner to spark wild celebrations.
Kompany admits that a more sensational outcome could not have been scripted, and has described how the occasion affected the players.
"Miracles do happen in Manchester but on this side of the road this time," said the City captain.
"It's one big blur for me, when the goal went in. I just remember jumping on top of Sergio when he scored the goal.
"He was crying on the floor, other guys were pouring their eyes out and I'm talking strong personalities who you don't see get emotional often. Then, all of a sudden, it was finished."

Dream come true

Some of City's players have been criticised for joining the club for financial gain rather to further their careers, but Kompany maintains that all they have ever wanted is to be successful on the pitch.
"We're champions but it's not about coming here for money and all these stories we've heard," said the Belgian, who arrived at City from Hamburg in 2008.
"We've dreamed of this moment all of our lives, when we were kids, when we had no money, when we had nothing.
"Now we are the champions and that's all it's about. You see the fans and how happy they are. It's just unbelievable."
